Minus one man: Two and a Half Men premieres without its former star

Popular prime time sitcom, “Two and a Half Men” returns to TV Sept. 19 for its ninth season premiere without one of its men, original star, Charlie Sheen who played the party–loving, womanizing Charlie Harper, jingle writer with a Malibu Beach home. But instead of renaming the show “One and a Half Men,” producers chose to replace Sheen with Ashton Kutcher, who rose to fame as the dense hottie from “That 70’s Show.”

Rumor has it that Charlie will die in a car accident and Kutcher’s character will buy his Malibu mansion. Why he is going to let Charlie’s loser brother (Jon Cryer) and dim–witted teenage son (Angus T. Jones) stay in the house is still a mystery. But things won’t come easy for Kutcher’s character. He will have a lot of competition as a potential home buyer. There are rumored to be several celebrities who will stop by the beach home when it goes on the market, perhaps a few stars from some other CBS sitcoms.

Charlie’s funeral will bring some famous faces as well, as most of Charlie’s exes will stop by to pay their respects. It’s a good thing the premiere is expected to be a two–parter. There’s no way to fit them all in one half–hour episode.

Sheen, meanwhile, will likely be surrounded by his ex–goddesses as he celebrates the premiere with a huge party. The premiere coincides with Sheen’s Comedy Central Roast at 10 p.m. the same night. First we say goodbye to Charlie Harper, then we watch Charlie Sheen get roasted. What better way is there to spend a Monday night?
