Host with the Most: Performer Neil Patrick Harris is hosting the Emmys again after hosting in 2009. Harris is no stranger to keeping audiences entertained since he has hosted the Tony Awards, which honors the best in Broadway, four times.
It’s Show Time: Elton John is doing a tribute to Liberace after Michael Douglas portrayed him in the biopic, “Behind the Candelabra” that aired on HBO. Both Douglas and Matt Damon are nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries, and the movie has multiple nominations.
Actor Don Cheadle is presenting a tribute to honor President John F. Kennedy who was assassinated 50 years ago. The Beatles memorable first U.S. TV performance on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964 brought the nation together not long after Kennedy’s assassination.
Country star Carrie Underwood will be using music from the sixties as a tribute as well.
In Memoriam: There will be featured tributes for James Gandolfini, Cory Monteith, Jean Stapleton, Jonathon Winters and Gary David Goldberg presented by their friends Jane Lynch, Michael J. Fox, Rob Reiner, Robin Williams and Edie Falco.
Miniseries “American Horror Story: Asylum” is leading the pack with 17 nominations.
