More than 50 retailers and eateries will offer full-time and part-time employment opportunities during a job fair on Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sawgrass Mills.
Sawgrass Mills, which is the largest outlet retail shopping destination in the United States is preparing for the holiday season by offering seasonal employment.
General Manager at Sawgrass Mills, Luanne Lenberg said the holidays are the busiest time at the mall.
“The job fair will allow our retailers to enhance their sales forces so they are prepared to meet the demands of the season,” she said. “As an economic catalyst with thousands of local employment opportunities, we are pleased to be able to match those in need of work with new full and part-time positions.”
Retailers represented at the job fair will include Banana Republic Factory Store, The Sports Authority, Super Target, Tommy Hilfiger Company Store, UGG Australia and Victoria’s Secret.
According to the National Retail Federation, the retail industry added more than 66,000 jobs during fall of 2013. The available retail and restaurant positions include sales, server, cashier, management and key-holder opportunities. Job seekers should be prepared to have their resume reviewed, fill out an employment application and be appropriately dressed for an on-the-scene interview.
“We recommend that all viable candidates come to Sawgrass Mills to apply for the jobs that best fit their needs and skill sets,” Lenberg said.
Depending on the needs of the employers, the attendees can expect a quick decision on whether or not they are hired for the job.
Lenberg said, “Some individuals may be hired on-the-spot, while others might require follow-up interviews.”
The fair will be held at Sawgrass Mills’ Fashion Row, between Calvin Klein and Columbia Sportwear Outlet, at 12801 W. Sunrise Blvd in Sunrise.
