NSU honors Hispanic Heritage Month with cultural events for the South Florida community

Sep. 15 – Oct. 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. NSU will be hosting a movie viewing, luncheon and other events and activities, such as concerts and the Hispanic Career Expo to share and celebrate Hispanic culture.

 

The Levans create endowed scholarship for NSU’s Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship

NSU trustees Alan and Susie Levan have brought a new scholarship to NSU, the “Susie and Alan B. Levan Endowed Scholarship Fund.”  This fund is intended to help students in NSU’s Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship pursue a master’s degree in real estate development or a bachelor’s degree in finance.  For more information, visit the website www.business.nova.edu.

 

FAFSA changes for 2017-18 school year

Starting with the 2017-18 school year, students will be able to apply for federal aid earlier. Applications open on Oct. 1, 2016, and this will be a permanent change.  For more information, visit the financial aid website at nova.edu/financialaid.

 

Enterprise CarShare Case Competition

Enterprise will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to first and second place winners of their CarShare Case Competition.  Enterprise rents cars either by the hour, by day or overnight.  To enter, submit a 500 word essay on how you would implement and market the Enterprise CarShare Program at Nova Southeastern University by Tuesday Oct. 4. Students who submit wining essays will present their business plans to executives. To submit your essay or ask question email Emilio Lorenzo at el541@nova.edu.

 

Audition for national anthem 

NSU is looking for students to sing the national anthem at the Team 2020 Celebration, which will be held Jan. 19, 2017 in the Arena at the Don Taft University Center.  Auditions will be held in the Don Taft University Center in room 309 on the third floor.  For more information or to schedule an audition, please contact Bill Adams at wadams@nova.edu or call 954-262-8025.

 

Tools for Success Workshop Series

The Office of Undergraduate Student Success will be hosting the Tools for Success Workshop Series. Eric D. Mason and Kevin Dvorak will talk about tips for avoiding plagiarism on Oct. 4 and Dvorak will host another workshop to help students hone their writing skills on Oct. 18.
