Shark tagged by NSU travels 13,000 miles
In the longest track ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, a male mako shark named Hell’s Bay travelled 13,000 miles in 600 days. The shark was tagged by NSU’s Guy Harvey Research Institute in May 2015. With its research, the institute hopes to better understand sharks and how to protect them, according to a release by the NSU Newsroom. To see the shark’s journey, visit cnso.nova.edu/sharktracking/.
NSU’s online public administration master’s ranked thirteenth
BestColleges.com ranked NSU’s online master’s in public administration program 13th out of the 25 best online programs, according to Yahoo Finance. Applications open for Undergraduate Student Symposium
The symposium, which is an event that displays the work and research of NSU students, is accepting applications until Feb. 10. Categories for submissions include academic papers, posters, short films and oral presentations. The symposium will take place on April 7. Work as an admissions ambassadors
Applications for the position of NSU Admissions Ambassador are open until Feb. 13 on Orgsync. Ambassadors are responsible for conducting campus visits, hosting guests for Shark Preview and communicating with prospective students and their families as well as NSU departments and faculty. In order to be considered for the job, applicants must attend at least one informational session.
