CommunityFest

NSU will host CommunityFest on Feb. 11 from 12-4 p.m. around Gold Circle Lake. This year’s festival will feature a petting zoo, music, food vendors, bounce houses and tables from NSU and community organizations. NSU students and organizations can volunteer at CommunityFest for Project Serve Points and Fin Points, respectively. The event is open to the community.

Women in Distress 18th Annual SAFEWALK-RUN 5K

NSU will host the 18th annual SAFEWALK-RUN 5K on Feb. 25. The walk is presented by Ultimate Software and supports the fight against domestic violence. All walkers and runners, as well as their pets, can attend to raise awareness and funds for the free, confidential services provided by Women in Distress of Broward County. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The registration fee is $25 for those 18 and older, $15 for children 6-17, $10 for canine companions and free for children 5 and under.

NSU Takeover Night at the Panthers

On Feb. 24, NSU alumni, family and friends will take over the BB&T Center as the Florida Panthers take on the Calgary Flames. Ticketholders will be able to enjoy Lord Stanley’s Loft, and unlimited food and drinks are included. Tickets range from $35 early bird to $45 regular price per person. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the game is estimated to run until 10 p.m.

NSU hosts second Listen, Speak Dialogue

On Feb. 13 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in room 1053 of the DeSantis building, NSU will host an open dialogue to review the recent executive orders relating to immigration, as well as NSU’s core value of diversity. All students can attend and participate in the discussion.

Zeta Phi Beta hosts Valentine’s Day Carnival

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority will host an event in celebration of Valentine’s Day in the UC pit on Feb. 13 from 7-9 p.m. The event will feature Valentine’s Day-themed games and food.

SGA and RecPlex team up to extend hours of operation

The RecPlex will now remain open for an additional hour on the weekends. After feedback from students, SGA and the RecPlex have worked together to extend their hours temporarily.
