Athletic calendar updated following hurricane Irma

After hurricane Irma, NSU athletics department has re-scheduled eight games. These changes have affected the volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, and cross country schedules. Sharks can visit nsu.sharks.com for more information.

Alvin Sherman Library host’s Holocaust by Bullets

On Oct. 8, the Alvin Sherman Library will open its Holocaust by Bullets exhibition which portrays a lesser-known side of the Holocaust. The exhibit presents the findings of an investigation into the mass executions of more than 2.2 million Jews and Roma. The exhibition will be located on the second floor of the library.

NSU’s annual “A Day for Children” rescheduled

Due to interruptions caused by hurricane Irma, NSU representatives have decided to reschedule  the annual “A Day for Children” event originally planned for Sep. 18. Instead, the health fair will take place on Oct. 8 on NSU’s  Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus. Students interested in volunteering for the event are invited to sign up on OrgSync using the form found at this web address: orgsync.com/45785/forms/275353.

NSU initiates NSU Cares fund to support Hurricane Irma victims

After Hurricane Irma, NSU established the NSU Cares fund to support the NSU community who suffered major losses due to the storm. Those who would like to donate to victims of the storm can text “NSUCARES” to 41444. Those who are in need of help can email NSUCares@nova.edu.

NSU celebrates Constitution Day on Sept. 28

Various activities will take place in the Don Taft University Center on Sept. 28 to celebrate Constitution Day, including a special presentation in the Flight Deck about “Thurgood Marshall’s Constitution” led by professor Charles L. Zelden from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Throughout the day, there will also be two opportunities to register to vote. For more information, visit sharkfins.nova.edu/constitution-day-sept-28/.

Career Development holds information sessions on Yellow Cab case competition

On Sept. 28 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., the Office of Career Development will hold an informational session on their Yellow Cab case competition in the Mailman Hollywood building, room 309. This opportunity allows students to apply the skills they’ve learned in the classroom to assist Yellow Cab in developing a branding and marketing strategy. Teams consist of three to four students, and the winning team will win two $1000 scholarships and a chance to meet with the company’s executives.
