Hello, to our Shark family!
Welcome back! We hope that you managed to spend some quality time with family and friends, ate a ridiculous amount of Christmas-themed food and curled up in bed for a day — or week — of Netflix binge-watching.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome back our resident faculty advisor, Megan Fitzgerald-Dunn, and thank Claire Lutkewitte for holding down the fort while she was away.
We trust that you were able to recharge during the break because things are in full-swing at NSU; which means that it’s only a matter of time before those late-night study sessions return. Yeah, we feel it, too.
Though with all of the new and exciting things happening at NSU, especially in these first few weeks, it’s quite easy to take your mind away from these thoughts and start off the New Year right. For starters, you won’t want to miss any of the events at this semester’s Week of Welcome, Involvement Fair on Jan. 11, MLK Day of Service on Jan. 15, NSU’s Leadership & Multimedia Conference on Jan. 27 or Community Fest on Feb. 10 for days filled with fun games, unique learning experiences and great food. We’d suggest marking your calendars now.
At The Current, we’ve also buffed out and polished the newspaper for the New Year. We hope that you’ll enjoy the design changes that we’ve made to your weekly paper, both in print and online at nsucurrent.nova.edu.
What hasn’t changed? Our desire to hear from you, our audience, and the reason why The Current even exists. Join us for our meetings on Tuesdays at noon in the conference room within the Office of Career Development in the William and Norma Horvitz Administration Building, email your letters to the editor to nsunews@nova.edu or stop by our office in room 310 of the Student Affairs building.
We look forward to serving you again as we ride the waves together.
With wishes for a successful semester,
Michaela and Jenna
