Sierra Durnil, freshman nursing major
“Cheaper and better food as well as a restructuration of the housing system since the current system is unfair to many students and it has a lot of problems.”
Carla Jones, junior nursing major
“I don’t mind the food, but I wouldn’t mind if it got better. Also the bricks outside the University Center need to be fixed cause that’s a real hazard; maybe the gym staying open later on weekends.”
Emily Salonia, freshman marine biology major
“The amount of freshman they are taking in as well as the problems in the housing department [regarding inadequate space and recent housing changes] in addition to better food all around campus.”
Hanna Punnoose, sophomore biology major
“Two things: one is the food and the other one is a screen in the University Center that plays music all night. So, if you are studying near the screen it can be really distracting. I would really appreciate if they could turn off the music after a certain time.”
Jackie Vasquez, freshman behavioral science major
“A more efficient housing system and cheaper and better-quality food.”
Chethani Chitraacharige, sophomore biology major
“When I came into the Shark Preview program as a prospective student, I got this good impression about their quote of realizing potential and I just realized this university was great for me. When I became a student, I realized that the school focuses on bringing students, but they don’t do enough to keep them here. There’s not a lot of student life here and I wish that student life would be improved. The other thing is that NSU spends a lot of money bringing students in but once they come, they don’t have the facilities or the classrooms or the labs to accommodate all of the students. So [when it comes to] the decisions made by administration and officials, they are not the one suffering the consequences of their decisions, students are. So I think better decisions relaying the information to the students before implementing the decisions and making current students comfortable with their college experience. And I hope they can tackle this problem with administration.”
