NSU’s new “Write from the Start” Writing and Communication Center had its new grand opening on Tuesday morning, Sept. 18. The new center is in the Alvin Sherman Library, Room 430. Students can visit https://www.nova.edu/wcc/ for more information or to schedule an appointment with a consultant.
A virtual reality screen of the WCC showed students what the center might look like on an average day without all the celebrating.
While the new center is certainly large enough for everyone’s needs, excited students (and Razor the Shark) bustled around inside to celebrate the grand opening.
Attendees at the event pose for a picture in front of one of the informal lounge areas, where students can get help in a comfortable, relaxed setting.
Freebies galore: attendees got their pick from pens, notebooks, chip clips, and more– all decked out with the WCC’s images.
NSU’s new “Write from the Start” Writing and Communication Center had its grand opening on Sept. 18.
NSU’s writing center has taken on over 700 appointments this year alone, and the new center will be able to accommodate even more.
President Hanbury even made sure to take a stop by all the WCC’s gear.
Several “Shark Tanks” have been built so that students can get more private help on their research papers, essays, outlines, bibliographies, and more.
Several executives for the university, including Provost Dr. Ralph V. Rogers, attended the exciting grand opening.
Some more free gifts for attendees, including WCC stick-on phone wallets, which appeared to be President Hanbury’s favorite.
The “Write from the Start” center will offer students all the help they need from the opening sentences to the conclusion of their works.
The new “Write from the Start” center is officially open in the Alvin Sherman Library, room 430.
The new center is definitely located in a prime spot: the windows overlook NSU’s beautiful backyard, including the Hollywood Hard Rock Hotel.
The new WCC will further the “NSU Edge” campaign, giving students the resources they need to get ahead in any field.
The university’s own radio station, RadioX, provided music at the unveiling.
WCC consultants look on as students take in the new writing center.
