STUEYs Call for Talent

NSU’s 21st Annual Student Life Achievement Awards, known as the STUEYs, are looking for students to perform at this year’s show. Students with talent in spoken art, dance, music and novelty are invited to apply for auditions. Interested students should email Special Events and Projects at specialprojects@nova.edu. The deadline for applications is Jan. 25, with auditions taking place on Jan. 30 and Feb. 1.

NSU Aquatics brings home gold

NSU Aquatics participated in the first City of Fort Lauderdale Lifeguard Competition at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex. The team competed against five other municipalities and teams. The event consisted of different fabricated emergency scenarios in order to test the teams’ reactions and responses.

Professional Development Grant now available

PanSGA’s Professional Development Grant Program is now open. The program will award successful applicants up to $1000 for “academic professional development opportunity.” For a list of guidelines, or for more information, reach out to Giancarlo Onorati. Applications are to SharkHub before Thursday, Jan. 24 at 11:59 p.m.

Weekend Programming

NSU’s Special Events and Projects hosts fun activities for students each week— here are a few of the events for this coming weekend.

NSU’s Spelling Bee

On Jan. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement will host a spelling bee. Students may sign up for this event on SharkHub to compete for a chance to win a TV, polaroid camera and many other prizes. This event will take place in the Commons Residence Hall in Room 123. Deadline for sign-up is Jan 24.

Sushi Cooking Class

On Saturday, Jan. 26, students can learn how to make their own sushi and enjoy it as a meal. Hosted by the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement, the event will take place 7 to 9 p.m. in the Flight Deck Multipurpose Room. There is limited seating for this event so interested students must RSVP on SharkHub.

Brunch & Bingo

On Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. students are invited to the Flight Deck Multipurpose Room to play bingo and enjoy some weekend brunch. Hosted by the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement, the event will be awarding prizes to bingo winners. Students are encouraged to RSVP to this event on SharkHub.
