Men’s Baseball

The season opener of the men’s baseball team started off strong with a 17-5 win against Tusculum. Senior right-handed pitcher Gil Torres stepped in for starter Matt Ornelas to keep the Tusculum Pioneers down to setup the Sharks for the win.

 

Men’s Basketball

On Jan 30, the Sharks beat Barry 90-85 in Miami Shores, Fl. Junior Mark Matthews finished with a game-high of 26 points and junior Mikkel Kolstad scored 21 points to their first sweep of Barry since 2010.

Women’s Basketball

On Wednesday night the Sharks marked their fifth straight win with a 67-49 win over Barry University. Christen Prasse led the Sharks scoring a season high 21 points. Jordan Tully scored NSU’s final score of the night to place the Sharks on top.

Women’s Softball

The Sharks suffered losses to the Montevallo Falcons and the Shorter Hawks 0-9 and 2-0 respectively, on Friday of the DII Gulf Shores Invitational. The Sharks have six new players in the starting lineup for this season. Starting pitcher Lexie Storrer took the loss after a 3.1 inning and junior Erica Winter finished the last 1.2 innings while striking out two of the five batters.
