Shark Speak : What did you think of the Fins Festival and how can it be improved for next year?

“I thought that the games and the food were good. Maybe a wider variety [of activities] would’ve made it even better.” Ashish Prasad, sophomore biology major

“It was pretty fun. I wish they had like more rides, maybe a Ferris wheel. Maybe some more free food would probably be better but other than that it was good.” Niyati Shah, freshman biology major

“I think what we could’ve done better with having the food last the whole time because I noticed that people were upset that the food ended at eight. People were upset about the food trucks because we didn’t know we were actually supposed to pay money– what were the tickets for, then? I came at six and realized that I didn’t need the tickets at all. Other than that, I think it was pretty good.” Kai Henriques, freshman behavioral neuroscience

“I really liked it but I think we should’ve had more free food. The funnel cake and fried oreos were a big hit but they ran out of it. Other than that I had a really good time. Hopefully in the future we can have it as a bigger thing and even more days.” Oriana Lopez, junior international studies major

“It was pretty good for the first [carnival], but hopefully they can make a couple of improvements for next year’s [carnival] to make it better, like a ferris wheel. Overall, me and my friends had a good time.” Raphael Khella, senior biology major

“It was very well set up. I really liked the zipline and the mechanical shark, but I feel as though there could’ve been more rides. Some of [the rides] were kind of weak—there was a trampoline but the weight capacity was 200 pounds, so we couldn’t go on. The games were fine, the music was good, but we just need more rides, in particular.” Arthur Thomas, pharmacy grad student
