NSU will open residence halls and resume in-person classes for Fall 2020
On Friday, May 1, President Hanbury announced to the NSU community of the university’s plans to reopen residence halls and resume in-person classes for the Fall 2020 semester. While the decision is subject to the CDC, local government directives, and Governor of Florida’s executive orders at the time of opening, students who prefer not to attend a class in person will have the option to attend class via synchronous online delivery. Palm Beach County beaches to reopen
In contrast to Broward County, Palm Beach County has decided to reopen its beaches on Monday, May 18, according to the Sun-Sentinel. In a 4-3 county vote on Friday, May 8, commissioners approved the reopening of beaches, yet beachgoers will need to remain within social distancing orders and must be going for exercises including walking, swimming, biking, running, fishing and surfing, according to the order. More information is said to be discussed this week.
Dunkin’ selling DIY donut decorating kits amidst pandemic
According to Today, last week (May 4 – 8), Dunkin’, which officially dropped the word ‘Donuts’ from its name last year, began selling DIY donut decorating kits for those wanting to do it themselves amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. At participating Dunkin’ stores, guests have the opportunity to purchase a $5.99 four-pack or $9.99 nine-pack of unfrosted donuts with chocolate, vanilla and strawberry frosting as well as sprinkles. Check with your local Dunkin’ to see if DIY donut decorating kits are available for pick up.
NSU’s RadioX begins podcast series
On Friday, May 8, NSU’s RadioX began their new podcast series called Off the Record, which features discussions on the week’s top artist, music release radar and interviews with guest DJs, local artists and students. The podcast series will also include a variety of different topics with new episodes every Friday.
