Obtaining a box of chocolates
Regardless of your budget, getting a box of chocolates can be one of the easiest parts of this DIY project. Go to your local dollar store and purchase a Valentine’s Day box of chocolates for as little as $1. If you want to get a little fancier, purchase a big box of chocolate, but be aware that you will be replacing the chocolates in the box with crystals, which can get a little pricey depending on where you get them and what you get.
Obtaining your crystals
Crystal shops are a great place to find crystals and connect with them on a physical level. While it may be more convenient to purchase them online, being able to go into the store and see what crystals they have that your valentine might enjoy is a fun solo activity you can do to get yourself in the Valentine’s Day mood. Near NSU, you can check out stores like Crystal Cave Rock & Gem Shop and Lucky House Mystical Store. You can even get some crystals for yourself, too.
Once you have your crystals selected, it may be a good idea to take pictures or jot down the descriptions that come with the crystals so your valentine can know more about them and their energies.
Creating your crystal chocolate-box
Once you have your crystals and box of chocolates, it is up to you if you want to indulge in the chocolates yourself while you work on personalizing your crystal box or if you want to give them to your valentine. Either way, you are going to want to empty out the chocolate box and begin applying layers of white acrylic paint to the tops and bottoms of your box to create a blank canvas for your crystal box. Choose a design you think your valentine will like or something that represents your relationship and paint it onto the box. Paint on both sides of the box.
Placing your crystals
Once your chocolate box has been painted and the paint has dried, it is time to place your crystals. If you have the descriptions of your crystals, feel free to write them on small pieces of paper and put them inside the open spaces within the box. For an added personal touch, write an additional note — or on the back of the descriptions — why you chose these specific crystals for your valentine.
This personalized DIY crystal box is sure to ROCK your valentine’s Valentine’s Day — pun intended. Feel free to make one for yourself as well. Happy Valentine’s Day.
