Career workshops for student athletes

Starting Tuesday, March 16, the Center for Academic and Professional Success will host a collaborative workshop series for student athletes. The workshops take place once a month online and will delve into effective strategies to make your athletic achievements shine on websites such as LinkedIn, along with how to network with business professionals to help get the most out of your career. The webinar is from 6-7 p.m. and students can contact Daniela Karaki-Suarez, career advisor, for more information.

Experience the Nova Singers’ spring concert

Wednesday, March 17, is the final night of the Nova Singers, NSU’s all-volunteer community chorus, concert. The singers have joined together with the Floranada Elementary School’s After School Chorus to bring you “John Rutter’s Mass of the Children” with songs from “Les Misérables” and more. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Church, located at 4845 NE 25th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308. Tickets are free for NSU students with their student ID and for children 12 and under. Anyone else interested can purchase tickets via https://secure.touchnet.net/C21175_ustores/web/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=6354 which will be available for pickup at the venue doors.

Learn more about the Peace Corps

NSU is welcoming local recruiters from the Peace Corps on March 24 from 3-4 p.m. to discuss details on their work and how students can participate. The discussions will go into the day-to-day life of living and working with a community overseas. To participate in this experience, find the event on Handshake. The Peace Corps urges students to register before the event date to ensure access.

Learn how to plan for post-graduation goals

Need help searching for jobs? Unsure about graduate school? NSU will host a virtual workshop to assist students in planning for their post-graduation plans on April 6 from 5-6 p.m. To register, contact Meagan Jones, assistant director of career advising, or register via Handshake.

Join a mock interview night

On Wednesday, April 7, NSU will host a virtual mock interview night for pre-health students. Students will have the chance to practice their interview skills with other peers and staff to help better prepare for applications of professional skills. The session is open to all majors in the pre-health profession and is from 5-6:30 p.m. To register follow this link.
