COVID-19 vaccine is now available to all NSU students and employees

NSU opened their vaccination clinic to all students, faculty and staff who are 18 years or older. Students can visit the NSU vaccination clinic after they schedule an appointment online to receive a single-dose shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. This follows new state-mandated guidelines in Florida that state anyone over the age of 18 may be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Full COVID-19 vaccination is required to return in-person for the upcoming fall semester

On April 1, NSU announced via email that all students and staff who wish to return in-person for the Fall 2021 semester will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The deadline for students and staff to be fully vaccinated and be able to return to campus for the fall semester is Aug. 1. In this announcement, they added that while BlendFlex would be remaining at NSU, not all courses would be offering the option. Students are directed to speak with their college deans to determine if they are eligible for BlendFlex learning.

Room selection begins for students coming or returning to campus

As of April 5, students coming or returning to campus for the Fall 2021 semester could begin selecting their housing for the 2021-2022 academic school year. Students, particularly juniors and seniors, will once again be able to opt to live in rented apartments at University Pointe Plaza as they did for this past academic year. Rolling Hills will also be available for undergraduate students to select as housing.

Class registration begins in new format

Class registration for undergraduate students began on April 5. Enrollment and Student Services sent out an email to all registered NSU students explaining the changes to the class selection dates and the way students qualify for certain selection times. Registration days will be separated by grade; students are qualified as seniors if they have more than 90 credit hours, students are qualified as juniors if they have at least 60 credit hours, but less than 90 credit hours, students are qualified as sophomores if they have at least 30 credit hours but less than 60 credit hours and students are qualified as freshmen if they have less than 30 credit hours. Each class group will have two days to register for classes before general registration opens for all students, starting with seniors on April 5 and April 6. Registration will not be open overnight, and each registration day begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 10 p.m. until the following day.
