Unity Fest
To round off Weeks of Welcome, the Diversity Student Council from the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Office will celebrate student diversity through Unity Fest on Sept. 2. from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Unity Fest will be held in the Don Taft University Center Spine, where students can experience a variety of cultures, backgrounds and organizations while offering free food, music and giveaways.
Security awareness training for students
NSU has partnered with KnowBe4, a security education firm, to provide students with an optional course on cybersecurity awareness. The course outlines examples and demonstrations on cybersecurity pitfalls while providing tips on how to stay safe online. Students can access the course online via KnowBe4’s website or at https://knowbe4.com/homecourse. The password for the training is “homecourse” and must be entered before starting the course. Students are encouraged to reach out to support on the KnowBe4 website if they encounter any difficulties.
Registration for Fantasy Football
NSU Intramural Sports and RecWell are offering a 2021 fantasy football league for NSU student during this NFL season. Students can register to be in the same league as their friends and win prizes during the upcoming season. Registration ends on Sept. 5 and can be completed on the Shark Fins website or at the following link. For more information or questions contact rz219@nova.edu.
Water Works
On Sept. 3 from 8 to 11 p.m. the Student Events and Activities (S.E.A.) Board and the Undergraduate Student Government Association will host Water Works in the Alvin Sherman Library Quad. Water Works, a NSU tradition, will feature obstacle courses, photo booths, foam, ice cream, music and giveaways.
9/11 20th anniversary
NSU’s Military Affairs and Veterans Resource Center will host a 20th anniversary 9/11 memorial ceremony on Sept. 11 at the Fort Lauderdale campus and stream live via Zoom. The ceremony will run from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and pay tribute to the victims of 9/11 and their families, in addition to first responder rescue efforts. For more information contact vrc@nova.edu.
