SharkCash for GrubHub

Nova Southeastern University announced that students and staff now have the ability to use SharkCash when ordering from Grubhub, a food delivery and takeout app. This partnership is through CBORD, which serves as NSU’s SharkCard provider. Using SharkCash with Grubhub allows you to order from over 300,000 merchants on the app regardless of where you are in the United States. Additionally, signing up with your SharkCard allows you to receive a Grubhub+ membership for free, which comes with enhanced benefits including waived delivery fees.

“About three years ago, our card service provider informed us the Grubhub partnership was coming to fruition. I said connect us as it would definitely be beneficial to students and faculty,” said Vernol Robison, NSU’s director of SharkCard Services.

SharkCash is not to be confused with the declining balance used for meal plans. The declining balance can only be used on campus. SharkCash can be added to your SharkCard online from a debit or credit card.

At other off-campus businesses students and staff can use SharkCash at  two local CVS’, Cuts4Sale Barbershop, Midas Automotive Repair and more.

“The goal is to have partnerships with, at least, companies within a two-mile radius of the campus. We’re trying to diversify the portfolio as much as possible so we’re looking at a variety of places like Whole Foods, Publix, SpareZ Bowling and The Davie Pro Rodeo. It’s a slow process that can sometimes take over a year but we’re working on it,” said Robinson. Additionally, NSU is working toward expanding the SharkCash program to all regional campuses.

If more partnerships with businesses around the Davie campus happen, the NSU shuttles may be reworked to allow students to travel to and from those businesses.

“We haven’t engaged in the conversation yet, but most likely if these things come to pass, the Shark Shuttle could most definitely be worked on. The more we expand, the more we will have to partner with other facilities. As students are going around Davie, we want to make sure they can go back and forth in a safe manner,” said Robinson.
