With the university going online for two years, many of the annual NSU traditions were put on pause. Now that we are back in person, so are our favorite traditions. For those of you who do not remember the traditions or have never experienced them, here are some of the most popular traditions.
Well, it Floats: Inflatable Fashion Show
NSU may not be known for their presence in the fashion industry, but no one said that sharks don’t have style and the Well, it Floats: Inflatable Fashion Show proves it. Sharks come in their most fashionable pool floats and strut their stuff across the Gold Circle Lake runway while serving life preserver realness. Students can enter just by showing up and the student with the best outfit wins an inflatable whale named Jennifer.
CommunityFest After Dark
By now everyone on campus has seen the announcements for CommunityFest, a premier tradition here at NSU, be the real fun happens after the sun goes down. Taking place right after the normal CommunityFest, CommunityFest After Dark showcases the underground and indie scenes here at NSU. With a special live performance from Razor and The Current’s Glee Club, come see Razor sing some of the greatest hits of shark songs. CommunityFest After Dark is not an event to miss.
Hide and seek with Razor
We all know that midterms can be stressful so we have to do what we can to relax, and Razor knows just how to do that. When midterms come along, keep your eyes peeled for Razor as he plays a campus-wide game of hide and seek. You never know where he might be hiding. Last year, Razor hid out in one of The Current’s newsstands for three days. First person to find Razor gets a free pass on all their midterms, but only if you can catch him. Razor has been known to be a runner, so wear shows you can run in. Will you find Razor before he finds you?
