College is hard enough, what with always having to worry about the little things like what to wear, if your most recently posted Instagram picture was filtered enough, or how you are going to find a job when you graduate. You know, the simple stuff.
Even though there are plenty of courses in history, math and science, no book teaches the simple tricks that you may not know existed that save time and energy.
Here are just a few life hacks to help with one of the most important things students deal with: food. These life hacks make snacking a lot more fun and convenient.
Properly using a paper ketchup container
Don’t be a victim of ketchup ignorance. If you have ever poured ketchup into those tiny paper cup containers and brought them back to your table for fry dunking, you may not know that there is a clever trick to properly using them. Ketchup containers are built to fan out. By pulling along the rim of the container the cup opens out. This way, besides dipping fries, you can now dip a burger without any hassle.
Quickly chill a drink
Nobody likes having a warm beverage after a long hot afternoon spent walking around, going to school or working. There is a very easy trick to get drinks in cans and bottles ice cold in about 15 minutes. All you have to do is get a paper towel, soak it in water, wrap it around the drink, and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes. Then, remove the can or bottle from the freezer and enjoy a nice ice-cold drink.
Chip bag bowl
Never serve party snacks the same way again. Now you can create a serving bowl right from the bag that the snacks come in. First invert the bottom of the bag, rolling it up into itself. The bag will sit easily on the table without falling over. Easily enjoy your favorite snack without having to reach down into the bag and struggle to find some chips.
Microwaving pizza
Leftover pizza never tastes quite the same when you reheat it in a microwave. The crust always gets soggy which makes it a bit less enjoyable than a freshly delivered and ready to serve pizza. However, now there is a simple solution to that problem. Place a small glass filled with water on the plate with the pizza in the microwave. When you pull out the pizza, you will have a nice crispy crust that you can enjoy without any complaints.
