SEA Board provides study break for students

The Student Events and Activities Board will host the bi-annual Crunch Brunch on Dec. 8 from 9 to 11 p.m. in the Don Taft University Center Pit to provide a break for students during finals week.

According to the SEA Board, Crunch Brunch is always the final event each semester and its purpose is to give NSU students a break from their hectic study schedules during finals week.

This year’s theme will be “90s Throwback Night,” and will feature classic 90s TV shows, such as “All That,” “Hey Arnold,” and “Boy Meets World.” Breakfast food, such as eggs, pancakes, chicken and waffles, will be served buffet style.

S.E.A. Board President Katie Pope, senior biology major, said, “It’s sort of a reminiscent Crunch Brunch this year. It’s evolved into what we feel is going to be beneficial or exciting for students to have during the semester.”

This will be the sixth year of the Crunch Brunch and approximately 150 students are expected to attend, based on past attendance.

Pope said that this will be the sixth Crunch Brunch that she has helped plan and that students should try to attend early to make sure they get food because there is usually a line going out the door from the buffet line.

“It’s gone from being an unknown event to something that students look forward to,” she said.

The S.E.A Board recommends that students attend because it is the last chance to mingle with classmates before the semester ends.

S.E.A Board Vice President of Traditions Sasha Pimentel, senior communications studies major, said “Students should attend Crunch Brunch because it’s one of those traditions that people look forward to. We give out free food and it helps all students on campus.”
