Men’s Basketball
The men’s basketball team fell to a close 65-70 against the University of Tampa on Jan. 26 at home. Sophomore Dwayne Gibson led the Sharks with 17 points, junior Gerard Tarin added 15 points, and senior Harrison Goodrick contributed 10 points, but the Sharks did not have enough to finish. The Sharks are now 2-9 in the Sunshine State Conference.
Women’s Basketball
The women’s basketball team celebrated their Shark Night and Think Pink Game by beating the Tampa Spartans 66-56 on Jan. 26 at the new Rick Case Arena. Senior Octavia Wilson led the Sharks with 24 points, senior Samantha Logan scored 18 points, and junior Amanda Tivenius followed Wilson with 10 points. The Sharks advanced their record to 8-3 in the Sunshine State Conference after the game.
