NSU is a unique and lively campus, but that doesn’t mean that Sharks can’t band together and take an afternoon to explore the South Florida area — even if that just means finding a quaint place to study.
A place to gill out doesn’t necessarily need to be a place to calmly hang out while eating some obscure food. Sometimes, all you need is to hang around like-minded people. If you happen to be the type of Shark who likes playing video games, but don’t have any way of doing so here on campus, Versus Gaming Center is there for you. It’s a bit of a journey to Pompano, but this place has a great sense of community.
Versus offers access to a lounge area that is outfitted with several modern console setups. Feel free to bring a group of friends and play video games for an unlimited amount of hours for $5. PC Computer setups are available for $3 per hour. Another option is to access the entire facility with no time limit for $15. The place is brimming with excitement and a sense of community, perfect for a night out with the homies.
If you’re more of a competitive gamer, or just want to spectate some higher level video gaming, there are weekly tournaments for various games like League of Legends, Street Fighter V, Super Smash Brothers Melee and Super Smash Brothers for the WiiU. Tournaments begin between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and run into the night.
Versus Gaming Center isn’t necessarily the best place to study, but once you’re free of responsibility, it’s a great place to let loose.
