The Sharks fell to No.9 Southern New Hampshire 8-6 on March 15. Center fielder Kevin Suarez carried the Sharks’ offense with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate to go along with a pair of RBI’s and runs scored. The Shark’s top-five hitters combined to go only 3-for-26 in the loss. The game was back-and-forth with four ties and four lead changes, seeming to be in NSU’s grasp with a 6-4 score. However, four quick runs from Southern New Hampshire stole the lead and the game for the second time this season.
Women’s Golf
Defending their tournament title from a year ago, the NSU women’s golf team emerged victorious once again at this year’s Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational. The team was steadfast in dealing with long days and tough conditions, but their mental fortitude proved superior, leaving them with momentum for the rest of the season. Two Sharks finished in the top 10 at the event: Sophie Madden tied for fourth at a three-round 223 and Aldana Foigel tied for seventh after her final round of 71.
