Seahawks running back Eddie Lacy has publicly spoken out about the public’s criticism of his weight for the first time, according to ESPN. Lacy gained a significant amount of weight following ankle surgery in 2016 and has been publicly shamed for it ever since. His weight-gain even became a popular meme. Lacy said of the criticism, “You just can’t shake it. And no matter what, you can’t say nothing back to them. You just have to read it… and move on.”

According to ESPN, Alex Gordon, “the worst hitter who has managed to hold on to a regular job all season,” hit Major League Baseball’s 5,694th home run this season. Gordon broke the previous record set in 2000 for most home runs hit in a season, and the projected final total for this season should surpass 6,100 home runs. Gordon will go down in history as being the man to break the record, despite the fact that it was only his eighth home run of the season.

A confidential NBA report shows that nine NBA teams, including the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs and Washington Wizards, lost money last season, according to ESPN. The highest grossing team, the Los Angeles Lakers, made $115 million profit while the lowest grossing team, the Memphis Grizzlies, lost $40 million.
Magic Johnson subpoenaed in Draymond Green lawsuit
Magic Johnson has been subpoenaed to testify in a civil suit against Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green, according to USA Today. Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson is suing Green over an alleged assault in 2016, and Johnson will be questioned about a tweet he posted shortly after the incident in which he said, “he was very apologetic to the Warriors organization, fans and everyone involved.” The subpoena requires Johnson to appear and give a deposition on Oct. 4 and provide any documents or social media posts regarding Edmondson.
