Potatopia has become a favorite for some NSU students, and for good reason. The potato-focused restaurant is a potato lover’s dream, and the “build your own” potato menu features every form of potato imaginable. From sweet potato fries to loaded baked potatoes and tater tots, this place is potato paradise.
Here’s how it works. You order using one of the electronic devices at the front of the store, choosing your base first and then customizing it. The menu takes you through all of the protein add-ins, like oven roasted chicken or BBQ pulled pork. Next, you will have the option to add toppings like fresh garlic, farmer’s market broccoli, roasted corn or red onions. After you have chosen your proteins and toppings, you will be asked to decide on a cheese, with options like smoked Gouda and sharp cheddar cheese. Lastly, top it all off with a sauce like melted cheese, sour cream or a wide variety of aioli, and wait for your masterpiece to be prepared.
If you are not interested in building your own style potatoes, choose from one of their delicious “smash hit” spuds that come in a bundle for you. Some popular options are “Smash-Topia” which features dressed up smashed red skin potatoes, and “I Think Therefore I Yam” which includes a sweet and salty mix with sweet potato fries. You can also purchase sides to go along with your spud like street corn, chips n’ dip and succotash salad.
