NSU Genomics Core Facility proposes 2018 Illumina RNA-Seq Pilot Grant Program
The Translational Research and Economic Development Genomics Core Facility is proposing pilot projects using the Illumina NextSeq 500 platform for RNA-Seq applications. The goal of this new program is to give students a unique opportunity for gene expression research projects at minimal cost that can catalyze further sequencing studies at NSU. Proposed research must be relevant to basic, translational, and/or clinical science. The Genomics Core Facility will provide the sample preparation and sequencing free of charge thanks to a generous donation of sample preparation kits and sequencing consumables from Illumina. 2019 NSU Scholarship Fishing Tournament announced
The Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography is announcing the 2019 NSU Scholarship Fishing Tournament. The offshore fishing tournament will begin on Saturday, January 12, with lines in at 7AM. Students interested in the tournament are invited to a Pre-Fishing Tournament Reception at Lauderdale Yacht Club at 5:30. CAHSS ‘Dance Works’ to take place in November
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) will be hosting “Dance Works” on November 2 and 3 at 7:30 pm in the Performance Theatre in the Don Taft University Center. Union hosts the Diva Performance in the UC Spine
In celebration of LGBT History Month, Union is hosting the Diva Performance on Oct. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the UC second floor lounge. Students will get to experience a drag queen show that is filled with music and dance. Irish Film Festival
In the mood for a movie night? Look no further because the Alvin Sherman Library and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences are sponsoring the Irish Film Festival. Thanks to Professor David Kilroy, we will get the chance to see independent Irish film on campus. At this year’s film festival, they will be playing two documentaries, and one feature length film.
