Shark Magic
Razor’s Edge Shark Talent is presenting their biannual Shark Showcase this semester, titled “Shark Magic.” Any NSU student can participate in the show alongside students from the Razor’s Edge Shark Talent program that will be featured. The Shark Showcase is being held this Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Guest Artist Exhibition: Amanda Madrigal
Miami-based contemporary artist and New World School of the Arts alumna Amanda Madrigal is partnering with the Department of Performing and Visual Arts for this year’s Guest Artist Exhibition. Madrigal uses repurposed materials to create figurative forms and environments. Her work will be presented as a mixed media exhibit, featuring her sculptures and taking on themes of mind-body connection, architecture, interpersonal relationships and nature. The opening reception will be held online Sept. 23 from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit will run until Nov. 13 and will be located in Gallery 217 of the Don Taft University Center.
The Maltese Falcon
The Maltese Falcon is a radio show in classic noir style that follows detective Sam Spade, who works on a case involving a bejeweled Maltese falcon. The Maltese Falcon will be presented on Oct. 2-3 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. via Zoom. Mayfly: A 24-hour Theatre Project
Stage 2 Productions, a student company at NSU, presents Mayfly, a 24-hour theatre project. The students from Stage 2 Productions, will create, design, cast and stage the entire production within a period of 24 hours. The 24-hour planning time begins on Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. and ends with the start of the performance on Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Dance Works
Dance Works 2020 will feature short films of original dances by student, faculty, guest choreographers and dancers from the NSU Dance Ensemble. Portraits in Music
Portraits in Music is an annual concert presented by the Department of Performing and Visual Arts and will feature original works and musical arrangements from NSU’s music students. According to the PVA website, “This year enjoy some of the most uplifting, positive music from the past and present.” Portraits in Music will be held on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom.
