Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings  

The most recent addition to the Marvel cinematic universe tells the story of Shang-Chi, a skillful fighter, and his journey within the Ten Rings organization. Shang-Chi must overcome his past. The film comes out Sept. 3 and stars Simu Liu, Tony Chiu-Wai Leung and Awkwafina.  

 

Bad Candy 

Bad Candy, one of the earliest horror films to come out this season, will screen across the country on Sept. 10. The movie follows the many events that happen in the town of New Salem on Halloween night, as told by the local radio station DJs. The horror anthology stars Zach Galligan, Derek Russo and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor.  

 

Best Sellers  

Michael Caine and Aubrey Plaza star in Best Sellers, a comedic drama about a young novelist who goes on a book tour with a famous, reluctant and retired author and their journey to understanding each other. The film will be in theaters everywhere Sept. 17.  

 

Dear Evan Hansen 

The award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen is set to be released as a feature film starring Ben Platt, Kaitlyn Dever and Amandla Stenberg, the film follows the same plot as the musical about a tragic event that guides a high school student to self-acceptance. Dear Evan Hansen is available in theaters on Sept. 24.  

 

The Many Saints of Newark  

The Many Saints of Newark, a prequal to the popular TV series, The Sopranos will debut on Oct. 1. The film centers on mobster Tony Soprano and his early years and the events in his life that lead up to the series. Notable actors such as Ray Liotta, Alessandro Nivola, Leslie Odom Jr. And Joey Diaz. Michael Gandolfini, son of the original “Tony Soprano” actor, will play Soprano.  

 

Venom: Let There Be Carnage 

Fans of the original Venom movie will get their much-anticipated sequel: Venom: Let There Be Carnage on Oct. 1. The movie follows Eddie Brock, portrayed by Tom Hardy, as he faces off against his counterpart Carnage, played by Woody Harrelson. The film is directed by Andy Serkis, who is best known for his role as Gollum in the Lord of The Rings trilogy.  

 

Dune 

The film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel Dune is set far in the future and explores concepts such as environmentalism, imperialism and feudalism. Dune provides a star-studded cast, featuring Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista and Stellan Skarsgard. It will be released on Oct 22 in theaters.
