Trick to the treat
The 10th annual trick to the treat of an internship or research experience will be held on Oct. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. virtually via Zoom. Presented by the Center for Academic and Professional Success and the Halmos College of Arts and Sciences, the event will feature students presenting their healthcare internship experiences, as well as inform students on how and why to apply to science related internships and research opportunities. Diversity Round-Table Discussions
During the first Monday of month the Multicultural Affairs Committee will present a series of topics for a roundtable discussion from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. though Zoom. The events will provide an open interprofessional discussion to listen and speak while withholding judgment about unfamiliar topics. On Nov. 1 the discussion will feature the topic of respect and religion and then belonging on Dec. 6. There will be a brief social portion of the event beginning at noon. All Write 2021
The Alvin Sherman Library will host an online workshop presented by the Florida Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America on Oct. 9 from noon to 2:30 p.m. via Zoom. The workshop will feature author Janice Hardy as she presents the topic bringing your novel to life. The workshop is designed to help both novice and seasoned authors to hone their writing skills. Forest Bathing at Tampa Bay
A study being conducted at the Tampa Bay Regional Campus is looking for faculty, staff and students on its campus to participate in a study to evaluate the effects of Forest Bathing on perceived quality of life. Those interested in assisting in the study can expect participation in at least one guided Forest Bathing session, with an experienced guide. Each session will last up to 90 minutes. Participants will be asked to complete a pre and post survey on perceived quality of life at the Forest Bathing Site. The site is located within 10 miles of the Tampa Bay Regional Campus. Creativity Exploration
On Oct. 9 from noon to 1:30 p.m. the NSU Art Museum will host the virtual program creativity exploration: Eric N. Mack via Zoom. The event will cost $10 for members and $15 for non-members. The program promotes the development of creativity and self-expression through art making and mindfulness.
