Eternals is a monumental step for Marvel’s Phase four reveal of new movies and television shows. Previous Marvel content in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has set the stage well for upcoming films and shows being produced. “Eternals” is something that is super exciting because it will change the course of how the MCU will flow and allow for the connected storyline to progress.
Marvel is in phase four of their cinematic timeline, which includes the upcoming movie “Eternals.” Eternals are a group of beings who are extremely powerful who came to Earth 7,000 years ago to protect humans from the Deviants. The Eternals are a group of individuals who are extremely valued because of their heroic characteristics, empathetic nature and will to protect what matters most to them.
Given this knowledge, during past films such as “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame” they could have been the saving grace that the Avengers and their world needed to defeat the main villain Thanos. However, they were instructed not to interfere unless the Deviants were involved. The Deviants are the Eternals’ mortal enemies that they have had a conflict with since the very beginning. The Eternals made a promise to protect humans only from the Deviants, which is why they never interfered with other crises that have occurred in the MCU.
Nevertheless, the Eternals have finally been introduced because of the aftermath of “Avengers: Endgame.” When the Avengers brought back half of the missing world population with one snap of a finger it altered the path of what was to come next and started a chain reaction for what is called ‘the emergence.’
The emergence is an event taking place due to The Blip and The Snap. The emergence was caused because of severe amounts of energy. The destruction of these two occurrences in the MCU have changed the course of everything involving the future of humanity. This is why the Eternal’s main purpose of their film is to not only be introduced, but to save the world and defeat whatever entities might stand in their way.
Things will never be the same, and “Eternals” opens a whole new timeline of events that lead into movies and television shows that will have Marvel fans at the edge of their seats, especially those who have a deep connection with the franchise and characters.
“Eternals” allows for so much more diversity and breakthrough; the anticipation is certainly worth the wait.
