Homecoming bash tickets go on sale
Tickets for NSU’s annual homecoming bash went on sale the morning of Nov. 8. The tickets are only available for NSU students at this time and can be purchased for $25 each. This year’s homecoming bash is being held Friday on a yacht and will be taking place this Friday evening. The number of tickets will be limited due to the event space, so be sure to check it out if you have not already.
Dates announced for event registration for the winter semester
The Office of Campus Life & Student Engagement has announced that they will begin taking event applications beginning the morning of Nov. 15. They also outlined firmer application rules for students sending in events to be approved. Organizations and clubs that would like to plan in-person events for the winter semester should submit their events no less than ten days in advance and no more than 120 days in advance. Additionally, event requests must be submitted through SharkHub and not over any other channels. Rentals such as advertisement, games, food and lockers are also making a return for events in the winter semester.
Organizations gather for block painting after original event was delayed
The annual Block Painting Festival is back after it was originally rescheduled due to inclement weather. Student organizations and clubs gathered on Nov. 7 to repaint their blocks outside of the Alvin Sherman Library quad. Students who are not participating in block painting were still invited, and attendees were provided with food, music, giveaways and a surprise event.
Veterans Day celebration takes place on campus
The 2021 Veterans Day celebration is taking place this week on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in front of the Horvitz Administration building. During the event, attendees will honor veterans and military-affiliated staff, students and alumni as well as those in the Davie community who are military-affiliated. During the event there will also be a recognition service for honorees of the “Nominate A Vet & Cadet” program, as well as several guest speakers including the NSU veteran SGA representative, the NSU vice president of facilities, the NSU executive associate dean and distinguished NSU alumnus. Light refreshments will also be provided for attendees at the event, but the event organizers request that attendees RSVP beforehand at this link.
