Shark speak: How do you feel about classes starting early?

“I’m not feeling it. I’m an international student so the movement process was a little too rushed for me. It’s a headache going through all my stuff with not enough time to prepare since it’s in storage, especially since I’m the type of person that likes to do things early. But when I got here I didn’t have my books and my classes were a mess,” said Anonymous, junior business management major.

“We didn’t get as much time at home as we normally do, so I was kind of sad about that. I feel like we didn’t get enough time to reoperate from last semester as well, it was really rough coming back in person. I just wish we had more time. Also, class locations, a lot of them weren’t even in; I feel like everyone was kind of unprepared to come back when we did. The only good thing for me coming back this early is that we get out early as well,” said Christine Morris, junior public health major.

“Everything was a little messy. Some of the class schedules weren’t put out because I think we were supposed to come back on the tenth. I also felt like I didn’t get enough of the break that I did. In some aspects I do kind of like it because we weren’t out of school for a long period of time, so it hasn’t been that difficult getting back into school. On those terms I like it, but everything else I don’t really like it much,” said Fendi Louis, junior transfer psychology major.

“At the end of the day I don’t really mind, but there’s a lot of schools that get that extra week so it’s a four week break when we had only three weeks. Also considering the fact that COVID-19 is rising at the moment, starting on campus is a bit scary. I don’t know if it was necessary, but that’s what happened so I guess I’m here,” said Adithya Daniel Mathews, sophomore biology major.
