In South Florida the leaves may not change, but, come fall, the TV line-up will. This Fall TV season brings 15 new shows and 10 returning favorites. Here’s what to expect.
“Lone Star” (Fox) Premieres: Monday, Sept. 20 at 9/8c
It seems television executives have discovered that the American public likes con men. Shows like “White Collar”, “Leverage” and, now, Fox’s “Lone Star” are proof. There must be something to the Tom Sawyer-like characters who keep us coming back for more lies.
“Lone Star” stars James Wolk as a man leading a double life. As Bob Taylor, he has a wife and father-in-law (Jon Voight) who owns an oil company. But his girlfriend knows him as Robert Allen. The premise of the show is simple enough: keep the girlfriend and the wife apart.
“Glee” (Fox) Premieres: Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 8/7c
Quinn had her baby and New Directions lost Regionals. However, the second season of the show is sure to have more drama and famous guest stars including already-confirmed, Britney Spears.
“Law & Order: Los Angeles” (NBC) Premieres: Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 10/9c
First there was plain ole “Law & Order”, then there was Law & Order: Trial by Jury”, now there’s “Law & Order: SVU” and “Law & Order: CI”. These were all set in New York City but the new installment of the series is taking it to the City of Angels.
From the trailer, “Law and Order: Los Angeles”, seems a major attempt to “jump the shark” and keep viewers interested by changing locations. The opening monologue is very similar to the one used in the original series and the premise seems to be the same. Hopefully, there’s more reason to watch this show than just a change in location.
“House” (Fox) Premieres: Monday, Sept. 20 at 8/7c
Everyone’s favorite sarcastic doctor is back. This season House and Cuddy explore their new relationship. Will House be different? I think not.
“My Generation” (ABC) Premieres: Thursday, Sept. 23, 8/7c
“My Generation” is a “mockumentary” that follows nine high school students as they are about to graduate in the year 2000. The cameras return 10 years later to find out what the students have done with their lives since graduation. The show features the typical jock, cheerleader, punk, nerd and slacker stereotypes.
“No Ordinary Family” Premieres: Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 8/7c
After crashing in the Amazon River, a family develops super powers. They meet super villains. They get into hi-jinks. They bond. They save the world each week. The audience laughs — in theory.
