Diary of … a mentor

That girl who thought it was impossible to ever move forward, to ever get college credits, to change her life is, believe it or not, now a mentor. Quite frankly, I can’t believe it. I have found what I want to do with the rest of my life. And I can say with complete conviction that I love it.

Diary of… a Student Who Studied Abroad

We studied with about 40-50 different students from all around the US and all around the world. I now know people from about 15 different states and even met a girl from Iceland. I don’t know why that is so exciting to me, but it is.
I look back at my experience and thank God everyday for giving me the opportunity to have my eyes opened. Although we had to give up a lot to go on this trip, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was always an optimistic person, and this trip showed me all the possibilities that are out there, and now that I have had a piece of it I know that if I work hard, I can do it all.

Diary of… a student who visited genocide memorials abroad

Lindsey Farah Goldstein is a sophomore education major and leadership minor. She is the vice president of Hillel, is in the Razor’s Edge Leadership Scholarship Program, is the Relay for Life Committee Team Development Chair, is the Office of Student Activities SEA Thursday Chair, is the Secretary and Historian of CAUSE and an Orientation Assistant for the 2012-2013 school year. Her favorite quote is, “Life is like photography, you develop from the negatives.”

Diary of… a student who attended a medical convention

Saamia Shaikh is a senior biology major. She is originally from Pakistan, but grew up in Orlando. She is the president of the Pre-Medical Society, as well as the co-president of the Pakistani Student Association. She is also a member of President’s 64 and on the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences’s Academic Integrity Committee. When Saamia is not studying, she is reading, doing research, volunteering in her community and spending time with friends and family.
