It’s OK to get engaged while still in college by Keren Moros Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve heard stories of my parents’ married years at college: the fun they had, the classes they took, the late night study sessions, the friendships and student activities — they taught me that it’s possible to […]

Faceoff: Be afraid, be very, very afraid
I hate being scared by Malische Oge When October hits, it’s as if a switch goes off, the lights go out, and all that I know and love turns dark and eerie. I find myself avoiding more places, people and things because October equals Halloween, and that means that the fear fanatics, horror movie maniacs, […]

FACEOFF : Keep guns off campus
In response to the Sandy Hook school shooting, the National Rifles Association is sticking by its guns — both figuratively and literally. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” said Wayne LaPierre, the organization’s executive vice president.
FACEOFF: Let’s talk about VIP parking this time
Stop stealing our parking spaces. I mean it. There are only so many hours in the day and I don’t intend to waste them patrolling each lot in this school just to hustle over to a 55-minute class and get reprimanded for my unavoidable tardiness.
FACEOFF: Foul language in the classroom
Using foul language in the classroom isn’t such a “no-no” anymore. It could be due to students’ lack of respect for authority or professors trying to relate to the generation they are teaching. Or, maybe it’s just that some professors don’t care about acting professionally in class.
