Florida Georgia Line shows the world “Anything Goes”

Partying on Friday nights with a pretty girl, drinking by a bonfire, and lazy Sundays is the theme of country duo Florida Georgia Line’s sophomore album “Anything Goes.” This album can be played without skipping a song.

“Anything Goes” is a CD that is perfect for any occasion. You can play it while you’re cleaning the house, in the car with your friends, or while you’re doing homework. There isn’t a song on the album that won’t make you want sing at the top of your lungs. Its catchy lyrics and upbeat tempos will stick with you long after these country songs are over.

Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley make up the vocals of Florida Georgia Line and they have the country music world in the palm of their hands. The guys got their band name from the middle ground between their hometowns. Kelley was born in Ormond Beach, FL and Hubbard was born in Monroe, GA. The guys met in college while attending Belmont University in Nashville, TN. They started out writing songs between classes and playing at local clubs. The duo seemed to have struck gold in 2012 when they released their first single “Cruise” from their debut album “Here’s to the Good Times.” Since then they have been taking over country music.

Florida Georgia Line’s music has only gotten better with the release of their second album, “Anything Goes.” Their sophomore album consists of catchier lyrics and beats that make it impossible to fight the urge to dance in your seat. Their lyrics have grown a lot more towards the southern rock genre when compared to their first album. Overall, their music doesn’t have that country twang that most country music has. This makes it easy for even non-country fans to enjoy Florida Georgia Line’s music.

The title track of the CD starts off with lyrics like “Victoria’s secret ain’t a secret no more” and “girls headin’ off to the river.” The song “Anything Goes” is your Friday night theme song. The second song “SunDaze” slows things down a little bit. Less work and more play is what this choir is preaching. Let’s face it, who wouldn’t want a lazy Sunday, right? So, go ahead and get your SunDaze on.

Hubbard and Kelley take their listeners back to their roots with “Dirt”. It was the first single off the CD and they pay tribute to the dirt they grew up on and the dirt they will eventually return to. If you’re not feeling the slow vibe with this song, don’t worry, they bring the party back with “Smile.” This song catches your attention with an inviting beat that makes you want to get up and dance. Hubbard tells us that he would do anything just to see “that pretty little smile”.

“Smoke” will bring back memories of Saturday nights and summer days. These country boys sing about “sittin’ by a bonfire” and “sippin’ fourties on a Saturday night” while “buzzin” through a chorus of “Dixieland Delight”. It’s definitely one that you’re going to want to sing-along with.

So go ahead, pop in their CD and get ready to sing Florida Georgia Line songs all day. Hubbard and Kelley know that life is all about the good times with friends but let’s face it, with these country boys “Anything Goes.”
