On the Scene: If you could pick anything, what would your last meal be?

CNN’s Jeremy Harlan has covered two executions. His main question for the doomed prisoners was what they wanted for their last meal. He reported that Virginia’s death row inmates have restrictions on what they can get for their last meal. They’re only allowed to order meals the prison served in the last month. If you could pick anything, what would your last meal be?

“Beans and rice with chicken because I’m from the island and we like beans and rice.” Pierre Toussaint, freshman biology major

“Birynai, it’s like rice with chicken and it is so good.”

Samantha Qureshi, junior marketing major

“It’d be in a setting like the Last Supper, but it would be like a Last Thanksgiving. There would be turkey, corn, corn bread and lots of gravy on everything.” Brittney Do, sophomore biology major

“I would say some sort of red meat, maybe New York strip, or salmon, with a basic side and maybe a glass of red wine. I just like the quality and taste of the food.” Gerard Knowles, freshman environmental science major

“Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn bread, and pink lemonade. I love those. It would make a perfect meal and they’re my mom’s specialties.” Mondy Dormil, sophomore biology major

“I would have a fat Sam from Moe’s. It is my favorite food. I’d also have pink lemonade.” Dashka Gabriel, sophomore communication studies major
