Denver Broncos sign Okung to 5-year deal

The Denver Broncos have agreed to a 5-year deal with former Seattle Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung. According to FOX Sports, the multi-year deal is worth approximately $60 million. The 28-year-old was the sixth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Entry Level Draft and was selected to compete in the 2015 Pro Bowl.

Sharapova’s humanitarian work suspended by United Nations

Following her failed drug test at the Australian open in January, the United Nations have suspended Maria Sharapova from serving as a Goodwill Ambassador for the U.N. Development Program, according to CNN. The tennis star tested positive for meldonium, a doping drug that was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, and may also face a multi-year ban from competitive tennis. Over the past decade, Sharapova has helped victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster through the UNDP. Sharapova will remain suspended until the conclusion of her doping investigation.

Griffin will remained sidelined until April

According to NBC, The Los Angeles Clippers will be without Blake Griffin until approximately April, after the 27-year-old sustained a quad injury. Griffin hasn’t played since Dec. 25 against the Los Angeles Lakers, after missing almost 40 games this season due to a hand injury. Once Griffin is cleared of his injury, he will need to miss an addition four games to serve a league mandated suspension.

Seahawks re-sign Christine Michael

The Seattle Seahawks re-signed running back Christine Michael on March 17, according to NCB Sports. Michael was drafted to the Seahawks in 2013, but was traded to the Dallas Cowboys shortly before the beginning of the 2015 season. The Cowboys later released Michael from his contract, and he was signed back onto the Seahawk’s practice squad. The team has not yet released the terms of Michael’s new contract.

Sting expected to retire from professional wrestling

Steve Borden, known by the stage name “Sting,” is expected to announce his retirement from professional wrestling at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction ceremony in April, according to Fox Sports. Borden has been out of the ring since September after sustaining a neck injury. The 56-year-old has developed cervical spinal stenosis from his injury, and has been advised against returning to the ring.
