Saamia Shaikh is a senior biology major. She is originally from Pakistan, but grew up in Orlando. She is the president of the Pre-Medical Society, as well as the co-president of the Pakistani Student Association. She is also a member of President’s 64 and on the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences’s Academic Integrity Committee. When Saamia is not studying, she is reading, doing research, volunteering in her community and spending time with friends and family.

SGA and Office of Student Activities launch Orgsync
On Jan.24, the Office of Student Activities and the undergraduate Student Government Association launched Orgsync, an online community management system used by higher education institutions to communicate with students and staff, track student involvement and manage campus organizations and programs.

“This campus is made of 30-40 percent international students, so we want the whole week to be for them, so they feel recognized and at home. It’s an annual tradition we’re trying to carry out and make it bigger and bigger,” she said.
