NSU’s Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity will host an Oral Cancer Awareness 5k Run/Walk-a-thon at Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill on Feb. 23 at 7:30 a.m. About 500 participants are expected and proceeds will benefit The Truth Outreach Project, a non-profit oral cancer awareness organization.

Jailing villains, fundraising for heroes
Relay for Life at NSU continues a series of events to raise money for the annual Relay for Life, a race supporting cancer survivors and caregivers, with the Jail for Bail event being held on Feb. 14 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. on the library quad.
NSU hosts Relay for Life kickoff celebration
Carisa Lippmann, medical school student at NSU, has lost family members to cancer. She said she is thankful for the event.
“I am excited to help in any way I can to alleviate suffering and work towards cures for different cancers. This is why I have—and will continue to—participate in NSU’s Relay for Life,” she said.
