Monica Herrera is a senior majoring in communication studies, dance and theatre. She is a member of the Nova Dance Society and appeared in “Ruthless: the Musical,” “Dress Code: Respond If You Please,” “Sure Thing,” “Gypsy: the Musical” and “Dead Man Walking.” She also does technical work in NSU productions and studied at the New World School of Arts and the STAR Academy of Performing Arts at Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School.

Alek Culpepper is a sophomore communication studies major. He is interested in journalism and loves to read. He describes himself as a theater junkie and has performed in many plays. Razor the Shark is not majoring in anything, but he is always on campus. He doesn’t just hang out here, he has represented NSU at games and campus events as the university’s mascot since 2005.

Mickele Mentz is a senior economics major. He was the president and founder of the Billiards Club. He is the public relations chair for the Society of Anime, Games and Entertainment, a senator for the Undergraduate Student Government Association, the president of the Interfraternity Council and the vice president of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Tanya Stathopoulos is in her second year of the doctorate in audiology program at the College of Allied Health and Nursing. She loves traveling, volleyball and artwork and she speaks fluent Greek. She is the Fundraising Chair at the NSU chapter of the Student Academy of Audiology.

Carrie Doussou, junior legal studies major, is an active leader on campus. She is the president of the Haitian Student Association as well as the treasurer for the Society of Astronomers and the Journal Club. Carrie also has a passion for writing. She is in the process of finishing a novel called “Elites” and she has competed in various poetry contests.

Jonathan F. Sanz, senior theatre and music major, has performed in several NSU productions including The Importance of Being Earnest, Ruthless! The Musical and Baby! The Musical.
Diary of…a madman in law school!
Joshua Rasco joined NSU this fall as a first-year law student at the Shepard Broad Law Center. This native Floridian may have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Humanities from Florida State University, but he is “a ‘Cane at heart.” Rasco has also been a drummer for 16 years, and plays in the band Thick Wet Fire. He hopes to practice intellectual property law when he graduates. His philosophy is “Life is short, laugh it up.”
