There was standing room only at NSU’s fifth annual Town Hall Meeting, hosted by President George Hanbury II, on Jan. 17 in the Arena Club Room in the Don Taft University Center. Hanbury was joined by staff, faculty and deans from many different NSU colleges, departments and offices.

The public ceremony of the 57th Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 21 will mark President Barack Obama’s second term in office. The ceremonies will air live from Washington D.C. on multiple channels.
America re-elects Obama
Obama had a second victory on election night. He beat pop star Justin Bieber’s Twitter record for the most re-tweeted message of all time. The tweet — which read, “This happened because of you. Thank you.” — included a picture of Obama and the first lady hugging, and was retweeted 298,318 times in 30 minutes.

This week’s installment of the Current series, which exposes students to various aspects of student life, includes an interview with NSU President George L. Hanbury II. Hanbury was a city manager in three cities and served as NSU’s Chief Operating Officer for 13 years. He became president and chief executive officer of NSU in 2010.
