Water Your Thoughts: NSU business students need better access to resources on campus

As an international graduate pursuing my master’s degree in business with a concentration in international business, I really enjoy going to the second floor of the Alvin Sherman Library to read the magazines and newspapers that are available. However, I find that there is a need for more resources that are related to economic, trading and international news on campus. It is also quite difficult for me to make it to the library each day to read the daily copy of the newspaper, especially since there are only a limited amount of these available and we are not able to remove them from the library to read at a later time.

It is simply not feasible for the many students on campus who cannot journey off campus for these resources on a daily basis to have to journey to one location to share these magazines and newspapers. Instead, newspapers like the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, International Business Times and Finance & Commerce should be accessible in other areas on campus, as well as digitally. As an institution that prides itself on education, NSU should ensure that its students have adequate access to the resources that we need to develop as professionals, starting with providing the products that students like myself need.
