Last month, Charlie Sheen was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine and assault. A porn star fled into a bathroom to escape the drugged-up actor’s tirade.
Last year, Sheen was suspected of domestic abuse towards his third wife, Brooke Mueller. That charge was dropped but he was convicted of misdemeanor assault and sentenced to 30 days in rehab. (Insert your own joke here).
But what seems to be crawling up more people’s behinds is that Sheen’s still on his so-called family- friendly show, “Two and a Half Men,” after so much not-so-family-friendly actions.
I can tell these critics haven’t seen the show. It’s true that the sitcom’s about a man who moves into his brother’s (Sheen’s character) house with his young son after being thrown out by his nagging wife. However, “Married With Children” proved that, just because a show has kids in it, doesn’t mean that it’s family-friendly.
Sheen’s character, called Charlie — and no, I’m not joking — is a bachelor booze-hound who intermittently uses drugs, Viagra and hookers to make his carefree life complete. Sound familiar? Not an episode goes by where these issues aren’t only shown or at least mocked.
In one episode this season, Sheen’s character complained that he was never allowed to tutor his young nephew. When quizzed about three contributions that the Romans gave to society he replied “wine, orgies and bulimia.” I don’t remember learning that on “The Cosby Show.”
Recent episodes have hinted that the now-teenage son has had a three-some. Sheen’s character has explained the six degrees of sexual partners. His brother, Allan, dreams about oral sex. Even the characters’ sassy, 70-year-old mother has, “been on more hotel pillows than the mint.” Wanna guess which character said that?
Still think “Two and a Half Men” is ideal for family bonding time?
I grew up watching “Sex and The City” and didn’t get this kind of sexual education. People shouldn’t harp on the fact that this miscreant still has a show that features kids on it after boozing it up, snorting cocaine and laying porn stars. That would be the beginning of his character’s night on the show.
