Organizations prepare for SGA Budget Hearing
Representatives from campus undergraduate organizations will attend the Undergraduate Student Government Association’s budget hearing to allocate funds for next semester on Dec. 7, from 1 to 5 p.m., and Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in room 200 of the Rosenthal Student Center.
“Communicate Through Conflict”
On Dec. 11, from 1 to 2:55 p.m., author and renowned communications and conflict resolution expert Ronnie Moore will host “Communicating Through Conflict,” in NSU’s Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center. Moore will discuss strategies for communicating better and resolving conflict more effectively. During the event, Moore’s books and CDs will be on sale at a special discounted price, and net proceeds will go to a battered women’s shelter. The event is free for NSU students, staff and faculty; tickets can be picked up at the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center.
New shuttle service for New Year
Beginning January 2013, a new Shark Shuttle service will go from main campus to the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The shuttle will run continuously, with the first pick-up at 10:30 a.m. on main campus and the final drop off at 5:30 p.m. The pick-up point on main campus is the Shark Fountain in front of the Don Taft University Center, and the drop-off point is in front of the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale. Oceanographic Center “Academic Fest”
On Dec. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m., students will have the opportunity to celebrate the end of the semester and tour the new 86,000 square foot NSU Oceanographic Center grounds and facilities in Dania Beach, located at John U. Lloyd Beach State Park. Researchers and NSU staff and students will be available to answer questions. The event will conclude with an Oceanographic Center tradition: an oceanfront cookout.
