For the first time, commencement ceremonies will be on campus at the Don Taft University Center. Previously, commencement ceremonies were held at the BB&T Center. Would you prefer to graduate on campus or at the BB&T Center? Why?
“I’d prefer BB&T because, even though it’s a longer drive, graduation is a special event, and hosting graduation at BB&T makes it seem nicer and more special. The longer drive is definitely worth it.”
Sara Rodriquez, junior chemistry major
“It doesn’t matter to me where I graduate. I just want to graduate.”
Cody Fuchs, sophomore accounting major
“I’m indifferent because many schools have ticket limits for graduation ceremonies, and law school graduations are typically small anyway.”
Dan Ieraci, law student
“I like it at the BB&T Center because it gives graduates the opportunity to bring more people to the ceremony.”
Lacei Sams, sophomore business administration major
“I like the BB&T Center better because it makes the graduation feel more special than it would at an arena that we see every day.”
Xavier Williams, sophomore communication studies major
“I prefer BB&T because graduation is a momentous event in my life, and, because we are having it on campus, only six tickets are allowed. It was a little disappointing to hear that we are not going to have it at BB&T for that reason, and my family is disappointed as well. It is what it is, but I’m not too enthusiastic about the situation.”
Chanice Allen, senior biology major
