NSU’s Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement hosted their very first amazing race event on November 17. The event’s theme was “Conquer the Continents,” and each of the seven challenges involved a different continent’s culture.
The race begins in front of Commons. Competitors match animals with their species.
These competitors are getting their answers checked by one of the officials.

The next challenge involves some skills. The teams work together to do laps around the shark fountain with their legs tied and a ball between their knees.
Setting up for the challenge is not as easy as it looks.
The challenge that tripped up all the teams was the fourth challenge. Teams must match the song lyrics to the European countries on the table.
Teams read a sheet of clues to try and figure out the answer.
This challenge took a lot of time for some teams to figure it out. Team 9 looks successful!
After the music challenge, teams raced to Horvitz to take a quiz on South American countries.
Teams used Kahoot to take the quiz.
Team 2 hoped there would be some hints in the clue given.
It’s neck and neck! Teams 8 and 3 race against each other for the top spot.
This challenge got a bit messy. Teams had to pour water into bottles without using their mouth.
This challenge did have a lot of spills, but it did not stop this team from succeeding!
The last challenge was an eating contest. Teams had to eat a meat pie and a fruit kabob without using their hands or utensils.
The utensils could have been handy but it not stop this team from finishing.
Team 1 won! These ladies won free tickets to Epcot for coming in first place.
This challenge did have a lot of spills, but it did not stop this team from succeeding!
Although Team 2 did not win first place, they still feel like winners.
