Autumn skies and pumpkin pies

It’s that time of the year. Time for cute sweaters, apple scents and pumpkin flavors. When autumn comes, especially in south Florida, there are typical clichés that go with the weather and really help you get into the mood.

Pumpkins are all you see

Once the first day of fall hits, everything is automatically pumpkin flavored. Pumpkin spice lattes become the new drinking water and every single one of your favorite meals now has a new seasonal flavor. Our food and drinks aren’t the only things to get a flavor and scent reboot. Lotions, soaps, shampoos and candles all come out with the same dark brown and orange colors. All to get your senses ready for the upcoming chilly weather.

Halloween is in high demand

Fans of the holiday don’t waste any time during September to get their Halloween spirits up. Everywhere you go, you will see stories, restaurants and offices decorated with spider webs and skeletons. People go all out with their costumes for trick-or-treating and parties. Along with decking your entire house with bats and Jack-o-Lanterns, what people love the most are the Halloween themed movies and tv shows. They get everyone ready to experience a night of scary fun on the 31st.

Sweaters, boots and more

When fall comes, fall weather follows. Although in south Florida we don’t have that many chilly afternoons, that doesn’t stop people from dressing up. For the most part, people gladly bring out their sweaters, jackets and knee high boots for any drop in temperature. Dark colors like black, orange, brown and maroon, own the season and put light colors back in the closet. Leather is also a favorite among fall lovers. Some people go as far as to wear their favorite scarfs or gloves that are either dark colored or plaid, which is also a big fall favorite and goes well with every typical fall fashion statement.

Outdoor activities

One of the best things to do when fall comes around is to take advantage of the cooler weather and do things outside. There are multiple fall festivals held outside so people can embrace the less excruciatingly hot weather. Picnics and apple picking seems to be a trademark of fall outdoor activities, we can’t forget about pumpkin picking, where people go out to pumpkin patches and pick out their future Jack-o-Lantern and pumpkin pie fillings. To end your fall-filled day, posting a nature photo with your friends is a typical cliché.

Fall clichés are expected every year after summer has died away. For us Floridians, we’re mostly happy for a change of weather, but fall has many wonderful things to offer. Holidays like Thanksgiving, Halloween and Black Friday are always looked forward to by people. Furthermore, fall clichés are the best way to get into the season of chilly winds and cozy sweaters.
